Toni kept every pit pass Ralph ever had. He always wore
them in his shirt pocket. Early in his career, she would
write the date, track, finish order, car number and what
happened if he didn't finish, i.e. broken spindle, rearend,
flat tire, wreck, etc. On one pit pass from Myrtle Beach's
Rambi Speedway, she even noted "hot" in the corner.
I've scanned a sample of them, but also know there were
other tracks he raced at as well. Al Rudd, Ricky Rudd's
father, called our house one Saturday morning and asked
Ralph if he would drive his car in the Grand National Race
in Hickory, NC that afternoon. He agreed and Al came by
with the race car and picked them up for the trip to
Hickory. I don't have a pit pass noted as such, but another
reference site listed him as winning $75 that day at the
race. There are far too many to send, but here are a few.
