Why Do I Need to Register?

The reasons I've decided to go with registration is to keep control of who has access to all the information that it's members have worked so hard to put together. 

The last thing I want to see is a bunch of undesirable spammers and scammers posting links to their male enhancement products, sleazy pornography sites, discount Canadian online drug stores and the like.  Bottom line, if it's not about the history of motorsports, it doesn't belong here.

Also, not everyone is comfortable having their names, email addresses and other personal information posted for all to see.  When you register for the Member's Section, you can create a fictitious screen name to use, instead of using your real name.  Though a valid email address is required to sign up, while creating your profile you can choose the option of keeping it hidden from public view to protect your privacy. 

Most importantly, I wanted to provide the interactivity option to it's members.  You would not believe the amount of things people submit for the web site and there just are not enough hours in a day for one person to keep up with it all.  With the new Member's Section, any member wishing to share their materials can now do so instantly themselves. 

There are forums for discussing the history of any form of motorsports, the Gallery when you can create you own media albums.  In these albums you can upload pictures (with or without captions), video clips, audio clips and so on. 

To get things going, I've tried to come up with categories for just about everyone.  However, if you have an idea, or would like to start your own section to moderate on a subject that interests you, let me know and I'll be happy to provide you what you need. 

Whether your goal is to research, or just looking for a place to "hang out" with people with the same interests, TheVintageRacer.com is your website to enjoy and use as you like.  I'm just the guy who pushes the buttons.  Since the site has moved to a new host, the package I purchased states that we now have unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth.  I'd like to test that statement!

Lastly, none of the personal information of registered members will ever be sold or disclosed to outside sources.  I despise spam mail as much as you do.
