I am looking for any photos of the Don Smith #99. It was silver with only red numbers, they ran a cross fired V8 Ford , but also had an Offy at times . I know it ran Freeport, Islip , Menands Empire raceway and other tracks in the north east. Burt Brooks the driver was a motorcycle racer before he began his midget days. I think his success in midgets was fair, but after he started driving the 99 for Don Smith he won't a lot of races. This car had a "swing axel" in the back that Smith built appropriately 1949. I also believe that the car ran NEMA races too. This car sat in a garage that I was in 7 days a week for 15 years and I never took a photo, now I am a old man and want a picture. If anyone has any information on the car or ideas where I can purchase a photo I would very grateful .
The car and driver won the ARDC non Offy title 4 times / 1950 to1953
