Favorite Memories / Funny stories at the track
« on: April 17, 2009, 09:07:12 AM »
Well there are several but, one of the funniest is when I was about 5 or 6 years old we were in the pits with our neighbors who has raced for years. Well on Saturday we loaded up the cars on the trailers (no big haulers back then) then myself and my grandparents went in the truck and my mom and dad went in a different truck because they were not staying for the whole show they had something else to do. As the night went on the races wound down and we where the last feature of the night. My mom and dad had told my grandparents that they were leaving and they left. Well as the story goes my grandparents stayed until it was over and they loaded up the other car which was the latemodel the semi-late had already raced for the night and it was already loaded ready to go home. Well I crawled up into the semi-late and went to sleep. My grandparents jump into the truck thinking that I went with mom and dad and both trucks headed home. Well as I was later told by my family they didn't know I was missing until morning because my mom and dad figured that I stayed with my grandparents and my grandparents thought that I went with my mom and dad. The way I understand it is they called each other that morning and then they realized that neither one of them had me so, I woke up to police siren's and people calling my name and all I remember is poking my head out of the race car and seeing my family and half of the town and the cops looking for me. I thought it was funny but, I'm pretty sure I was the only one.
