Daniel Demarco
Photo Collection

We are proud to announce that race photographer Daniel Demarco has offered to share his photo collection, some of which dates back to the 1950's, here on the pages of TVR! Below is a sample of a few of his photos. As time permits, Dan will continue to post additional photos, so be sure to keep checking back.

Dan has been attending races weekly since the late fifties, starting at Reading as a small boy, circa 1958. He then started attending other tracks in the early sixties. In addition to Reading, there were regular trips to Nazareth, harmony, Flemington, Williams Grove, Lincoln, Port Royal, Allentown, Langhorne and Susquehanna. Dan has also been collecting photos from all of the tracks he's attended since he can remember. His dad always gave him money to buy a photo or two at the track. They were only 25 cents back then!

Dan started shooting with a Kodak Brownie camera back in the sixties. It cost a whopping $8.00. He used that until 1974 when he bought his first 35mm, a used Canon TX, fully manual camera. He has been shooting weekly since then. After a few years Dan felt confident enough to step up and purchased a Canon AE-1 and an A-1 and started shooting for Area Auto Racing News. He also shot for Speedway Scene for several years, and presently shoots for Gater News in Syracuse, NY.
