I
was lucky enough to serve as Williams Grove's Tech Director during the
late '80's and early '90's. As anyone can imagine, the way racers
interpret the rules is often, shall we say, creative. As you can see from
the wear on my rulebook, it was always in my back pocket, ready for any
"discussions" on the rules.
1989 was Williams Grove Speedway's 50th Anniversary. After the National Open, the last race of the season, I got just about every driver in attendance, including a few who were on the sidelines, to sign my rulebook. I thought all of the autograph hounds might enjoy a look-see. I was able to decipher most of them. Maybe some of you can figure out the ones that I couldn't. - Dave Zortman
