Jack Stroud from St. Louis won his share of Midget features. His son Mickey would also be come a Springfield standout.

Loaded and ready to travel is Joe's #39 Offy Midget. He also owned a #38 Offy and a Ford V8. All chassis were Kurtis Kraft built.

A final candid of the Shaheen Hotrod. Local talent raced it weekly at Joe's giving the locals someone to cheer for against Andy Granatelli drivers from Chicago.

Rick Scott from Decatur, Illinois, ironing in the track with his self-built Modified. This picture demonstrates this type of race car; heavy with a lot of welding and powered by a large engine.

Dick Standridge in Lloyd "Curly, Rahn's Midget carrying "Our Flag". Dick's four sons, Rick, Ron, Randy and Robbie would become racers too.

Norman "Bubby" Jones, left, and friend Jan Opperman were regulars at Super Weekends. Bubby was the only one to win three Super Weekend A Mains in one year and Jan was runner up to him each time.
