About TVR |

What
is TheVintageRacer.com? In late 2001, I was
given the honor of taking over as Webmaster for The Eastern Museum of
Motor Racing’s website (www.emmr.org).
EMMR is an outstanding organization, deeply committed to the
preservation of all forms of motor racing history.
When redesigning the EMMR site, I had many new ideas, but wanted
to keep the EMMR site as businesslike as possible.
So, “TheVintageRacer.com” was created as a sister site to the
Eastern Museum of Motor Racing’s website.
I saw it as a way to use my skills and abilities to give
something back to the sport that has been so much a part of my life and
to help promote EMMR and it’s objectives. Simply put, TVR is in a magazine type format, also dedicated to the preservation of all types of motor racing history. To achieve this, TVR has two main goals. First, to provide a non-commercial presence on the Internet where anyone who shares an interest in motor racing history can share his or her knowledge with others with the same interests. Secondly, everything submitted to TVR will be permanently preserved in a digital format and placed in The Eastern Museum of Motor Racing’s library for posterity. I am neither a professional historian nor collector (but, I’m working on it!), but have been a life long fan of most types of racing. Very little of what you’ll find in TVR came from my own meager collection of memorabilia. 95% of the materials in this website have been submitted or loaned to TVR by others. Little by little, others continue to contribute their knowledge, articles, interviews, photos and other materials and to date, the response has been excellent. To get involved with
TVR, you don’t need to be a professional photographer, writer or
historian. All you need is to share the same passion for the history of
motor racing. If you’d
like to become a contributor of photos, stories, interviews or other
materials to TVR, please feel free to e-mail me at
